A room in West Bay's newly renovated Golden Age Home will be named the "Rotaract Blue Suite" to commemorate the club's $5,500 donation to help outfit the retirement home.

Rotaract Blue, a club of young people interested in serving their community under the auspices of Rotary Clubs International, raised the funds through various club fundraisers, as well as donations from local businesses.

Club Vice-President Yvette Cacho and President Tricia Cacho presented the funds to Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Adult Special Needs Programme Coordinator Dawn Rankine and Disaster Coordinator Lynda Mitchell.

"On behalf of our older persons, I thank you for this gift," said Ms Rankine. "It is wonderful to know that younger persons have not forgotten our seniors."

Ms Cacho said that the Rotaract members viewed the donation as being an excellent opportunity for the younger generation to give back to older residents "who had sacrificed so much" for the country
