Put Your Best Foot Forward is a unique give-back program started by Rotaract Blue which partners with the Department of Children and Family Service to provide access to proper school shoes to underprivileged students in grades 1 to 12 which positively affects their growth and development.

Why New Shoes?

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) provides school uniforms every year and other organisations help with school supplies but none with a focus on school shoes.

Lack of Financial Resources
◦ Utility bill vs. buying a new pair of shoes

Medical Health Issues
◦ Shoes that are too small can hinder a child's physical as well as their learning development

Social Health Issues
◦ Bullying

Program Benefits:
Improved health
◦ Comfortable shoes help bones develop naturally - Most of the bones in children’s feet are cartilage and do not fully develop until the age of 18 (Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists of the UK)

Improved self-esteem
◦ Boost in self-esteem
◦ Less opportunity for bullying

Improved Learning Development
◦ Focus shifts to school assignments/activities

How can you contribute?
◦ Sponsorship
◦ Host 'Dress Down Days' during the early weeks of August
