Rotaract Blue is hosting its 3rd annual pajama party, Dreamzz, on Friday, 27 August 2010 at L.I.'s VIP Lounge. This annual event was created in an effort to raise funds for the club's initiative known as "The Fred Speirs' Vocational Grant Program". The vocation grant program is designed for

eligible Caymanians from the ages of 16 to 30 wishing to pursue a vocational or technical course either locally or overseas Like a typical scholarship, the grant may be used for education expenses such as tuition, fees, books, accommodation, food and other related expenses.

While the grant is currently valued at CI$500, Rotaract Blue is hoping that with continued support from the community this amount will increase in the future. Rotaract Blue is very grateful for the support L.I. has shown throughout this initiative.   The club is inviting the community to come out and support this worthwhile event and help make someone's "dreamzzz" come true!

With the success of last year's fundraising event, the club was able to award two lucky recipients, Lori Ann Speirs and Shane Mascal. "We are extremely honoured to award these individuals with grants to help fulfil their dreams. As a young Caymanian myself, I believe that this initiative is beneficial to our country because many young persons who have a keen interest in furthering their education through vocational studies are not recognised. Majority of the focus has always been on academics. Rotaract Blue's Vocational Grant program is an excellent tool to help build someone's future", said Rotaract Blue Director of Professional Development Vanessa Gocul.

The club is encouraging all young Caymanians who are interested in pursuing a vocational/technical career and in need of extra funds, to fill out an application today.

Application forms for the grant can be obtained from the club's website - www.rotaractblue.org .  C ompleted applications can be submitted via email to rotaractblue@gmail.com or given to any Rotaract Blue member.
