On August 9th, Rotaract Blue held our annual Put Your Best Foot Forward dress down day.

Each year, our club works with the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) on this project; DCFS provides our Community Service Director with a list of shoes & sizes that are needed so we can determine our fundraising goal. Normally this list includes around 20 – 30 pairs of shoes for children in need. Alarmingly, this year the list from DCFS listed 90 children across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac.
Thank you to our corporate and individual sponsors!

A special thanks to all who participated.
Every penny truly counted and we are so grateful to you all.
Our Put Your Best Foot Forward committee began reaching out to members of Cayman’s corporate community to solicit participation in this year’s dress down day. To provide shoes for all 90 of these children, our fundraising goal was CI$5,000.

We are absolutely delighted to share that we raised over CI$10,000 this year, doubling our fundraising goal!

With this money, we were able to purchase and deliver 90 pairs of school shoes to the Dept of Children & Family Services to distribute to their clients. Both the DCFS social workers and their clients have been overjoyed by the generosity this initiative and the corporate community has showed them.
The surplus funds raised will be allocated towards the August 2020 Put Your Best Foot Forward initiative for the purchase of school shoes, or earlier, pending the need determined by DCFS.
