Pinch, punch, it's the first of the month!

Today we held our first meeting of the month and what a constructive one it was as we had the pleasure of having Sondra Lovett, Life Coach of Achievement Coaching speak with us once again - she's a friend of Blue!

Our guest speaker Sondra Lovett along with Rotarian David (Rotary Central) and guests Ally and Latoya pre-meeting.

The evening began with our usual protocol followed with an ice breaker by Club Service Director Ally who had us make a circle within a circle. Paired with another person, Director Ally lead the questions and had partners answer each other. A quick way to get to know more about the person standing in front of you.

Our ice breaker was followed by announcements and reminders on upcoming events, but we also had a special ‘Show & Share’ for the ‘Building Minds’ segment by Professional Development Director Brian. He gave us a synopsis on the book “The Power of Habit” by Charles Duhigg along with key takeaways such as ‘habits can be changed by removing cues that trigger the routine or by replacing the bad routine with a good one.’

After announcements were made, it was time for Sondra Lovett to guide us on the topic “Taking the Next Step in Your Career”. Each person was handed a blank sheet of paper and told to draw a circle (yes, it was a circle themed evening). In that circle was our comfort zone, outside the circle was beyond our comfort zone. The whole idea behind the activity was to identify what you must start doing to advance to that next step in your career.

Sondra graciously donated not one but TWO Life Coaching Sessions with her (valued at a total of $500) which the winners were very appreciative of!

After the meeting was adjourned, all enjoyed food and fellowship.

“In the end, it is important to remember that we cannot become what we need to be,
by remaining what we are.” - Max DePree
