Rotaract Blue (Blue) recently held its third Annual Shades of Red, in conjunction with its AIDS/HIV campaign at the Brasserie Restaurant. Like previous times, the event proved to be another success. Shades of Red was created as a
fundraiser which benefit our HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness campaign including the Cayman AIDS Foundation's efforts in helping those living with HIV/AIDS. Initiatives also include enhancing the awareness of the virus in the Cayman Islands.

This year's event was a relaxed, cocktail party allowing guests to experience the tastes of wine from several regions of the world. During the event, there were several informational presentations conducted by Margaret Michaud of Cayman AIDS Foundation (CAF) who spoke about the deadly virus, its high risks and importance of educating yourself and others while promoting non-discrimination.

Additional information on HIV/AIDS was also dispersed at the informational booth throughout the night ensuring that the event was fun-filled, educational and enlightening. All proceeds made will benefit our HIV/AIDS campaign together with the CAF's efforts for helping those living with the virus, while preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS throughout the Cayman Islands.

The club was commended for another successful event. The willingness to take on such a controversial issue and professional conduct were also highly recognized.

A special thanks to The Brasserie Restaurant and Premier Wines & Spirits for their continued sponsorship. The public can  look out for future AIDS/HIV initiatives of Blue.
